Mabuhay House Society Receives $10,000 Community Contribution from LifeLabs to Support Filipino Canadian Community
Burnaby, B.C. – Mabuhay House Society proudly announces the receipt of a $10,000 community contribution from LifeLabs, presented on June 9, 2025, as part of an ongoing effort to support the recovery, resilience, and celebration of the Filipino Canadian community in Canada.
The donation was formally presented by Charles Brown, President and CEO of LifeLabs, to members of the Mabuhay House Society Board during a gathering held at a community event attended by LifeLabs staff and members of the Filipino Canadian community.
The cheque presentation followed a Pride Flag Raising Ceremony, held in partnership with Pinoy Pride, to celebrate the joy of diversity, inclusion, and acceptance during Pride Month.
“We are incredibly grateful to LifeLabs for their generous contribution,” said Lester De Guzman, Chair of Mabuhay House Society. “This donation will go a long way in supporting our programs that uplift the Filipino Canadian community—from cultural initiatives to mental health supports—and will help us continue building safe, inclusive spaces for healing, empowerment, and celebration.”
The funding will help bolster Mabuhay House Society’s ongoing community programming, advocacy efforts, and long-term vision of establishing a Provincial Filipino Cultural Centre in British Columbia.
This community contribution marks an important step in strengthening relationships between public institutions and multicultural communities, promoting not just representation but real support and solidarity.
