Mabuhay House Invites Applications for Board of Directors

Vancouver, BC – November 29– Mabuhay House, a non-profit organization based in British Columbia, is pleased to announce the opening of applications for its Board of Directors. This presents a unique opportunity for individuals committed to making a positive impact on the community to contribute their skills and expertise.

**Desired Skills:**

The ideal candidate should possess at least one of the following areas of expertise:

- Governance and board development, preferably in large, mature non-profit organizations with budgets exceeding $2 million.

- Organizational development, HR, talent, and culture.

- Finance, business planning, and organizational sustainability.

- Legal expertise in employment, non-profit, corporate, or civil law.

- Government relations, lobbying, policy, and advocacy.

- Conflict resolution.

**Qualifications:**

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria:

- 18 years or older.

- At least 2 years of experience on a Canadian non-profit board.

- Residency in British Columbia.

**Commitment:**

Successful candidates should be prepared to commit a minimum of 5 hours per week (20 hours per month) for board meetings, committee work, attendance at community events, and other related responsibilities.

**Key Dates:**

- Deadline for Application: December 10, 2023

- Interviews of Shortlisted Candidates: December 11-15, 2023

- Term of Office: January 2024 - December 2025 (2 years)
