AGAPAY
The Agapay Program is a healing and recovery initiative to support survivors and families affected by the Lapu-Lapu tragedy.
“Agapay” meaning to support and stand beside someone in times of need, reflects the program’s commitment to providing culturally grounded, compassionate, and sustained care throughout each participant’s healing journey.
The program begins with professional healing and recovery assessments conducted by licensed Occupational Therapists (OTs). These assessments identify the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of participants and guide individualized care pathways.
Recommended supports may include counselling, physiotherapy, massage therapy, trauma-informed services, and other wellness supports, as advised by practitioners. The AGAPAY Program delivers this support through a coordinated, culturally responsive, and needs-based approach, prioritizing both the continuation of existing care and new connections with Filipino practitioners whenever possible.
If you have been impacted by the Lapu-Lapu tragedy, please reach out to kalinga@mabuhayhouse.ca
Program enrolment is open until April 26, 2026
The AGAPAY Program is made possible through the support of the United Way BC | Kapwa Strong Fund Project.
